Datousaurus was a (probable) Mamenchisaurid Sauropod from the Middle Jurassic of China; discovered in the Shaximiou Formation. Datousaurus was a rather medium-sized sauropod with a somewhat large skull, averaging around 15 meters (50 ft) in adult length. It was one of the rarer sauropods of the Shaximiou, and it may not have been as sociable as other sauropods. It's long, high-held neck; a feature similar to related sauropods like Mamenchisaurus and Omeisaurus, suggest it to be a high-level browser.
